OIL RANCH

On Friday we went to the Oil Ranch with a bunch of people from our ward. There ended up being 30+ people go. It isn't very far from us and is SO much fun. There are lots of different activities for the kids to do.

TRAIN RIDE

The train takes you around a little pond with ducks and swans and you can also see cows, donkeys and pigs. G was a big fan of the wind blowing through her hair as she rode. It was a nice break from the sun.
The train also takes you through a tunnel. G wasn't so sure about the darkness. :)

HAY RIDE

There is a hay ride that takes you out into a pasture where you can feed cows some pellets. As soon as the tractor stops the cows are sticking their heads in wanting the pellets or 'cow candy' as the driver called them. They are very nice but very slobbery! G had her cow candy ready to feed a cow but the cow was taking a little too long getting it out of her hand. The longer the cow took the more unsure G was about feeding it and she was pulling her hand back towards her body. The more the pulled her hand back the more the cow stuck its head in trying to get it. G ended up with cow slobber all over her clothes and then she got scared and started crying. After a few minutes she stopped crying and said she wasn't scared anymore and then a few minutes later she was ready to pet the cows. All in all it was a good experience! We planned to do the hay ride again but we ran out of time.

INDIAN VILLAGE
There is a little "Indian Village" with a Tee pee and woman dressed up with all kinds of artifacts to show the kids. She was really nice. She gave the girls little feathers for their hair.

G did so good on the Indian swing. I was impressed with how long she held on.

PETTING ZOO

There were a couple of petting zoos there. There were rabbits, chickens and goats.

TRACTOR

There were wagons and tractors for the kids to play on. There was also a hay maze, a fence maze, various playground equipment and a putt-putt golf course. G was actually hitting the ball towards the end but the first time the ball went in the hole she said "Oh no!" I guess we need to play putt-putt more often.

HORSE RIDE

G's horse was named Pinta. I was so proud of G for riding by herself!! She does LOVE horses!

PUMPKINS

In October at the Oil Ranch the kids get to pick a pumpkin to take home.

I am sure B was wondering why he had to sit on the wet ground for this picture, but when there is a pile of pumpkins can you really blame the mom?

It really wasn't as bad as it looks! The ground was even dry for this one. Poor B!

Even though B spent most of his time in the stroller, he enjoyed being outside and was really good! He even got a nap in. Here are some pictures to prove it wasn't all tears for B.

Friend A is always so good with B. She always seems to find his smiles.

I love B's expression in this picture!! I imagine J's expression to be similar.
