I am sure this is just the begining of G dressing E up...

The paper towel in the top picture is just to cover up friend S's face and the paper towel on the bottom covers up G's name.

the right side is a calender where I write the goings on that is not quite up to date.

I was so happy to find a piece of paper that I had written a bunch of stuff down about G back in March of 2008. I was even happier that I found it when I was doing her pages and not after. The right side of the bottom picture is all journaling about what grace could say and things that she did that month. Too much to type but if you are interested in reading, might be able to click on the picture to make it bigger and read it that way. If not, you will just have to come visit and read it in person :)

catching some Zzzzs

We are always finding the kids in crazy/funny sleeping positions. Here are some from July and August. Somehow G managed to escape this post. I am sure we will catch her another time.

@ the zoo

We forgot we live in Houston and decided to go to the Zoo in August. IT WAS WAY TOO HOT! But we still managed to have fun :) Every time the kids saw an animal statue they would hop on and tell me to take their picture. We skipped out on the petting zoo - I wasn't in the mood for sweaty goats as we had enough sweat of our own. This was the first trip where G and B both walked the entire time. We only took one stroller and E got dibs. They did so great - especially B. He did not ask to be carried until the very end when we were walking to the car. What a trooper! We are already planning a trip in October....or November to beat the heat next time...

They have a dinosaur exhibit at the zoo right now. It costs extra and I am too cheap so we settled for a picture on the dinosaur outside the exhibit. Too bad the kids don't know how to look at the camera...

Sneaking a peak at the ...

Flamingos!

Time for a break! B fell just as we got to the children's zoo and reopened a previous skinned knee. Blood was running all down his leg. I was worried he would never want to walk again. We had some snacks and some much needed water and he forgot all about it by the time we were ready to go again...thank goodness because it was definitely too hot to carry a 2-year-old.

G just looks so grown up to me here. Check out those red cheeks.
I told you it was hot!

She looks a little scared in the picture but she loved getting to drink out of the bottle.

Carousel time. G got the ostrich.

B got the cheetah.

and E got the cougar. It was her first time - she loved it! Don't you like her hat? She has plenty of hats at home but of course we forgot them all so we had to buy her one at the zoo. It is definitely a keeper :)

Look how cute that baby elephant is. sorry about the poo :(

This baby giraffe was pretty cute too.
It is crazy to me that the baby giraffe was taller than us.

And this giraffe was cracking everybody up. He or she, I really don't know was right up at the glass looking at all the people. He stayed this way for a really long time.

It kinds looks like the giraffe was people watching...

rolling E and singing B

B singing "If you chance to meet a frown" He kinda trails off at the end but he knows the whole song - even the second verse. Sorry it is sideways - I couldn't figure out how to turn it.

E showing off her rolling skills. There is no sound on this one.

in his closet

We often find B playing in his closet.
I guess it is just the right size for him to have
everything right next to him.
Or maybe he just likes being away from
everything else? :)

more from gilmer

Here are the rest of the pictures from the 7/29 to 8/6 trip to Gilmer.

B does love to have a book read to him.
Aunt C was a good sport.
She read him lots of books.
Definitely a chair full!
It is a wonder we were able to get them to all hold still
long enough for this picture to be taken.
Missing cousin B in this picture

The little tractor is always a popular toy at Nana and Papa's.
Apparently is doesn't even have to be your turn to drive
to have fun with it.

G is becoming quite the driver.

Just being a boy!

B likes to "drive" the big tractor...

He is finally learning how to drive by himself.
He has a hard time turning and backing up
BUT he is really good at going straight ... until he
crashes into something.
