G's 10/08 pages

Here are more of G's October 2008 scrapbook pages. This one took me a little while to figure out with the sizing, placement and for some reason the colors were just not coming together. I have to say, though, I am very happy with how it turned out. I think this layout might be my favorite so far. I don't know if it is because I have been working mostly on B's scrapbook or what but this one seems extra girly (which G can definitely be sometimes!). I journaled all about our many Halloween activities on the first page and left the second a little less busy. There are butterflies stamped in purple on the green paper (and if you look closely you can see that it matches the butterflies on her tinkerbell dress), hearts stamped in purple on the purple paper and flowers stamped in pink on the pink paper. The butterflies on the second page are on dimensionals.

color scheme: almost amethyst, lovely lilac, gable green and regal rose

Ring Around the Rosies

G and B have been playing so good together today (which is a little surprising since they both got up at 6:30 and can get a little grumpy when they don't get enough sleep). They did Ring Around the Rosies at least 6 times before B finally decided he was done.

B's 10/08 page

Here is B's October 2008 page. You can't really see in the picture but I did some paper peircing around the circle that is behind the middle row of pictures. Also, there is some stamping on the orangeish paper. I spelled out his whole name and cut out each letter in a different color/style. I am really happy with how this one turned out. And once again I was able to use my new circle cutter :) The colors look a little washed out in this picture...sorry!

color scheme: really rust, so saffron, bashful blue, sahara sand, whisper white and certainly celery.
stamp sets: Big Deal Alphabet and Rough Texture (wheel).

B's 11/08 page

Here is B's November 2008 page. His first and middle names are covered up but you get the idea. I am still loving my new circle cutter :) Those pumpkin stems took way longer than they should have and I am still not sure I am loving them.

color scheme: bashful blue, pumpkin pie, chocolate chip and old olive.

G's 10/08 pages

Here are G's October 2008 scrapbook pages. Well, I should probably say 1 set of her October pages. This layout is from when we went to the Oil Ranch. I still need to do the Halloween and Yamboree layouts. We just have too much fun in October to limit it to 1 layout for the month :) I got to use my new circle cutter and it was lots of fun!!

color scheme: chocolate chip, regal rose, pumpkin pie and old olive.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

G was taking a bath, and I went in the other room to grab the shampoo and when I came back this is what I found. He was next anyway I had just hoped he would have had his clothes off when I put him in :)

B the Monkey

G comes to me this morning and says, "Mom, B is on the changing table!" Did I believe her? No, not really, but when I went to investigate this is what I saw. I still am not sure how he got up there but he is banned from playing in his room without an adult until further notice...

Long & Lean with Big Brains

B had his 1-year dr. visit yesterday. He weighs 22 lbs 13 oz (yay for forward-facing carseats!) and is 31 in long. He was in the 50th % for weight, 80th % for height and 95th % for head size. The dr. said he was long and lean with big brains. G's head is always in at least the 90th %.

Where's B? (ignore the arm sticking out)

There he is! Thank-you Grandma for the very soft and very big towel. It is perfect!

A Visit from Grandma and Aunt L, Easter and a Birthday

Fasten your seat belts this is going to be a LONG post! Last Thursday T's mom and sister, L, came for a visit just in time for Easter and B's birthday. It was a very busy weekend but we had lots of FUN!

WAITING

It was a long day waiting for Grandma and Aunt L to arrive. The kids passed the time by reading. G was reading to B but B was reading his own book.

ZOO

On Friday we went to the Zoo. The kids really love being outside.

G was a good big sister showing B the way. B was much more interested in the animals this trip.

Waiting for the sea lion show to start. It was pretty hot. Check out B's rosy cheeks.

Still waiting for the sea lions. Playing peek a boo with Grandma.

Watching the sea lions.

G is getting so big!! I took one of B with this sea lion statue but there were 2 girls ducking down behind him so it looks funny.

Carousel rides are always a favorite. Aunt L was nice enough to ride with G.

B kept waving and smiling at a random lady so I finally got smart and went and stood by her to get a good picture.

Watching the zebras.

Getting a closer look at the Zebras.

Grace does love her Grandma!

Walking on the lily pads.

Trying to see the flamingos aka mingos.

Watching the mingos.

TRAIN
To make this trip to the Zoo special for B's birthday we decided to take a train ride around Herman Park after we were done. It was about a 15-minute ride and a very relaxing way to end the hot day at the zoo.

What a handsome little guy!

EASTER

G was much better at dying eggs this year.

She got SO excited every time T would take a egg out of the dye and it was a different color.
Admiring her work :)

All ready and waiting for the Easter Bunny.
(yeah, we forgot the grass but don't worry we made some out of construction paper the next morning.)

The Easter Bunny came! I think more than 1 Easter Bunny stopped by our house :)

Let the hunting begin.

For a first timer B didn't do too bad.

I am loving his blue hand.

G is a pro at hunting eggs! She was a little concerned, however, about the Easter Bunny. She did not want him to take her eggs and hide them. And Sat. morning when we told her he had come and left presents in her basket she did not want to go downstairs. We had to reassure her that the Easter Bunny was gone and that it was ok to go and see what was in her basket.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO B!!

Presents, presents and more presents. Aunt L took B to Build a Bear Workshop to build the football-playing monkey!

G wanted to help so bad.

Every time B pulled off a piece of paper he would laugh and clap. He was so proud of himself.

Some balls from Grandma.

Tools from mom and dad.

B's football cake. It was WAY easier than I thought it was going to be and it turned out pretty good. (If I do say so myself.)

G helped B blow out his candle. B was trying SO hard to catch the flame. It was getting a little dangerous.

B was definitely NOT shy about eating his cake!

He just kept stuffing it in :)

His first taste of ice cream. He LOVED it! I am loving the chocolate beard :)

G was much more careful about eating her cake. After watching B eat his cake G said "I don't want to dig into mine."

At one point G brought a towel over to B to clean him up. I guess she just couldn't take the mess anymore. She got a little too close and B left his mark :) She was not amused!!

JUST FUN

We had so much FUN with Grandma and Aunt L. Their trip was definitely not long enough :) We are excited when we can go to Utah for a long visit in the summer.

We love our Aunt L!!

B thinks he is old enough to drink out of big glasses these days. He always thinks he has to share your drink with you. He drank about half of Grandma's water. (I don't think it bothered her!)
