welcome, little one

I made this card for a friend who just had a baby. My inspiration came from this card at splitcoast. I basically copied it exactly but it was still fun to make and super easy which is always great!!

thumb-sucker

B just hanging out after a bath. He does love his baths. He has recently started staring at his hands as if he is trying to figure them out. Today he went from his back to his side a couple of times so we are just waiting for him to start rolling. I am sure that one day soon I am going to wish he didn't suck on his thumb but for now it is really cute and he doesn't do it that often...

Story Time

Last night when G was going to bed she was insistent that B lay down next to her on her pillow. She made sure he was covered up and then asked for a book. She "read" him several books. It was SO cute!!
One of the books she read was a "touch and feel" book. She would hold the book with one hand and take his hand with her other one and help him feel the animals.
He just laid there the whole time looking at the book and listening to her read. We have such cute kids!!!

Memories

Here is a fun little game... Leave a comment on my blog of a memory that you and I have had together. It doesn't matter if you've known me for a short time, or a long time, anything you remember! Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. On your mark...get set...blog your memories!!

Photo Shoot

We took the kids to JC Penny's a couple weeks ago to get pictures. Here are some of our favorites.

We are BIG fans of the Extreme Close-up shots!!

G LOVES Seasame Street and Abby is one of her favorites.

She got the boots for Christmas. We will be very sad when she outgrows them. It was Daddy's idea to tuck her pants inside.

We really hope B keeps his olive complexion. It is perfect for greens and browns.

What a sweetheart!!

Stretching Out

B is often found sleeping all stretched out. It just reminds me that he is growing up because he doesn't need to be all rolled up in a ball to sleep anymore. He does still like to cuddle though. He is getting so much better at holding his head up. He also is starting to "talk" to us lots. There are even times when it seems as though he is fussy just because we walked out of site. Oh, and he is starting to out grow some of his 3 month clothes. He is only 3 months old today...

"Tootkie Dough"

As I have said before G loves to help in the kitchen. This afternoon she helped Daddy make cookies. G discovered the beater all on her own. She does love "tootkie dough". She ate and ate until there was none left on the beater and then she went to find the bowl.

I think at this point she is more interested in the dough than the cookies. She will eat as much dough as we will let her have but she usually only eats 1/2 a cookie at a time.

Check out that face :) You know it is good when it is all over your face. Also, her lip finally looks like it is getting better.

Finally! Some Scrapping!!

It has been a while since I have had a chance or the energy to sit down and scrapbook!! It took me a while to get back into the groove. The pics are from September 2007. I am only 10 months behind on G's book which isn't too bad. I haven't started on B's book yet but hopefully I will be able to soon. The top picture is the left side of the layout and the bottom is the right. I am pretty happy with how they turned out...

There is some subtle stamping on the bottom of the old olive and the top right corner of the rose red. Also, the creamy caramel and so saffron pieces behind the pictures are crimped. The white paper is for blog purposes only. G's friend would like to remain anonymous and their are names under the picture.

Again there is some subtle stamping on the top left corner of the creamy caramel and the rose red. Also, the old olive and pumpkin pie behind the pictures are crimped. I used the Embrace Life and Tall Tales stamp sets. Again, the white paper to keep names hidden. You can click on the picture and it will get bigger if you want to see the stamping and crimping.

Veiwer Discretion Advised

So G was climbing on her princess foam chair a little to close to the end table in the living room. She fell and her chin hit the table which caused her to bite her lip. Poor Baby!! She cried and cried and screamed and cried but I think she has decided she might live now....B somehow managed to stay asleep through all the chaos :)

Hi, I'm 2 and I can dress myself...

I got G's jammies out and she wanted to put them on herself. This was the result. Just in case you were wondering....she has both legs through one leg of her shorts :)

Play-Doh

G got this Play-Doh set with some birthday money. 6 of the octopus' legs came off and all had some kind of tool to use. There were also lots of mold for different sea shells and sea animals on the outside. The 2 legs the stay attached move so that you can make a fish and try and flip in into the head. Also, if you put play-doh in the head so squish it down with the hat and you can make other sea life.

At first she just watched us play with it but then she got a little more excited about it. Here she is making a turtle.

I think the scissors were her favorite. She kept cutting the heads off all the fish. I am loving her fingers as she is holding the scissors.

It was a pretty fun afternoon with the Play-Doh. I am sure we will play again soon. Oh, and if you were wondering about B ... he selpt the whole time.

Mommy's creation. After I cleaned it up G kept asking "Where's Mommy's fishies?"

Called to Serve

Unlce M got his mission call today. He will be serving in the Mexico Torreon Mission. He reports to the MTC on Oct. 8. We are so excited for him!!

Fireworks

G and her first sparkler. I am still not sure she is quite old enough to be holding it by herself but she did pretty good. You can see B in the background trying to get away from the smoke. We did finally get smart and move him upwind.

G was in her jammies so that she could go straight to bed after our tiny firework show since we had to wait until after her bedtime to start. What were we thinking? The neighborhood fireworks were way too loud for her to go to sleep. She was up until after 10 and even then I am not sure how she stayed asleep. At around midnight it sounded like we were under attack :)

Our firework show consisted of 1 box of sparklers and 2 of these spinning pandas. G was scared of the first panda but liked the 2nd one a little better. Hopefully next year's show will be a little more exciting.

I think B was just happy to be outside.
