Here is further evidence that G is a girl, 2 years old and in the process of becoming a very good mommy!


Doesn't everyone change diapers while wearing sunglasses?

She is getting really good at putting the diapers on all by herself. She used to get so frustrated with the whole process and just cry. Now she takes her time and if she needs helps she just asks. It is so much better!

She caught on that we were taking pictures so she had to pose. What you can't see is that the baby's right arm is tucked down inside the diaper. Luckily G didn't notice this or the whole diaper changing process would have started over.

More Sleeping and Another Milestone

B was trying SO hard to roll over while he was in the swing. He finally just gave up and went to sleep. He stayed in this position for his whole nap. I guess he was really tired!!






If you read the post "4-month check up" you know that it is time for B to start rice cereal. I sitll cannot believe that he is already old enough! This is the 'before' picutre. He even gave us a little smile.


His first official bite of solid food. As you can see his smile went away. He was very unsure about the whole thing.



He was pulling some pretty funny faces at us.







On a side note, G was very curious about the whole thing. First she was very upset that he was using 'her' bowl and spoon and then she just wanted a bite. After I was done feeding B I gave her a little taste. I told her that she probably wouldn't like it and that if she needed to spit it out to go to the sink or the trash. She still wanted a taste. She held it in her mouth for a little bit and then swallowed and said "I did it!" I asked her if it was good and she said yes. She didn't want any more. :) What a funny girl.

















All done! I think most of the cereal ended up on his face, hands and bib. But I guess that is to be expected for the first time. I am sure he will learn soon enough and then the real messes will begin. Stay tuned!

Yep, I paid only $5.10 for everything you see here: 3 boxes of cereal, two 4-packs of toliet paper, shampoo and conditioner. I am new to this coupon shopping business and by no means an expert but I am pretty proud of myself. I definitely feel like I am well on my way....hopefully more great deals to come.

It Shouldn Not Be This Hard!

It definitely should not be this hard to open a can. I have lost my Pampered Chef canopener which, for those of you who don't know, opens cans with a 'safe edge'. THIS is definitely NOT a safe edge. T has informed me that he will not open another can for me until I either find the one I lost or order a new one. He too is a big fan of the safe edge. How does a can opener just disappear? I have looked EVERYWHERE!! Where are you my beloved can opener?

More Sleeping

When we went to check on G the other night this is what we found. She has been loving her baby alot lately. She carries her everywhere. She reads to her, sings to her, feeds her, shows her things, puts her in time out, pushes her around in the stroller, and on and on and on. She always makes sure her baby is on the pillow and covered up. She is really cute with her baby!

4-month check up

B had his 4-month check up on Wed. He weighs 17 lbs 3 oz and is 25 in long. I didn't get a percentage from the Dr. but did a little research online and from what I can tell he is in about the 75th% for weight and 50th% for length. I am not so sure about the length percent because he is already outgrowing some size 6 month onsies because he is too long for them....he must just have really short legs :) He got checks for all his milestones at the visit inincluding holding his hands at his chest, following bojects 180 degrees, cooing and babling and laughing with without being tickled. He has also been cleared to start cereal .. yikes!! Is he really old enough for that? We will probably start it sometime this weekend. By the time he has his 6-month checkup he should be on vegetables and fruits. And here come the messy mealtimes again.... The Dr. also prescribed some eye drops to try and help his goopy eye. Also, he is a pro at rolling from back to front. No more sleeping on his back. Well, we still put him on his back he just doesn't stay there. Hopefully this new sleeping arangement will help his bald spot a little :)

Lately I have noticed that he sleeps with his neck like this alot. Looks comfy huh? Another comfy sleeping position. I guess he finished the roll :) Don't worry, we moved him after the picture.

Rolling and Counting

Ok, I know this doesn't look like a very exciting picture but it really is because when I laid B down for his nap he was on his back. I checked on him a couple of time and he was on his side and then the last time I checked on him this is what I found. Not only did he roll over, he did it while he was sleeping. What talent :) He has been trying to master rolling over for a while now and he could never quite get his shoulder out from under him. So, YEAH for B!! Maybe now he will be able to do it while he is awake. I am not quite sure we are ready for him to be mobile ;)

And now for a funny story from G. She has been watching Sesame Street this morning and it is all about counting. There is a part where Grover is going up some stairs and he counts each one until he gets to the top. As G was coming up the stairs I hear her counting and when she gets to the top she says "Eleventeen, Eleventeen stairs mom!" What a funny girl!
