E's birthday Zoo trip. She had a great time. It would have been even greater for her if she could walk but she still was able to see a lot.

chimps

The chimps are new to the zoo. Their exhibit was a little crowded so we didn't stay long but we will definitely be going back. I am not sure how many are there but there are quite a few. They were all kinda doing their own thing.

B was impressed when he found out that they were digging for and eating blueberries (top picture). Blueberries are his favorite.

G looks like a little tourist with the map. She loved holding it and deciding where to go next.

rhinos

The rhinos are new to the zoo also

B was a little nervous about that little guy...

E loved riding the carousel except for when it was time to get off. She had a little melt down at that point but she got over it quickly...

G and B are pros at this but E

is still learning. She was excited to see the goats but a little nervous to touch them and didn't really get the concept of brushing them...

B wanted to pet this pig.

G started collecting leaves. She carried them for quite a ways afterwards until we finally made her find a special place for them...

running, running, running

They would run until there was a turn and then stop and wait for us to tell them which way to go. We would make them wait until we caught up a little before we would tell them. It is a good think the zoo has many path choices and lots of chances for mom and dad to catch up.

the lions were a bit lazy as usual but at least they were sleeping in a good spot so that we could see them.

E and her chimp. When we take the kids to the zoo for their 1st birthday we get them a stuffed animal. G got a cheetah and B got an elephant for their 1st birthdays. I think E was happy with our choice for her...
