Well, not really the first of the season for Utah but the first since we have been here.
The kids woke up to glorious flakes falling from the sky and by 9:30 they were begging to go build a snowman.
I told them Daddy could take them out in the snow when he got home. I know I am a bad mom for not taking them out the moment they asked. M is not ready for snow you see, and I really don't appreciate snow when I am outside. Plus, I know there will be many, many more days of WAY more snow to play in.
At 11:15 when we left to take G to school it had stopped snowing, but it was still on the ground.
At 2:15 when we left to go pick up G it was gone. All of it. Secretly I was happy. B was not. B was MAD! He yelled at me the whole way to the school about how mad he was like it was my fault it was gone. Finally I convinced him there would be more many many more days of snow and eventually the ground would stay white for a long time. Whew, he finally calmed down.
Then G got in the car and excitedly said "Mom! Mrs. Ferry said when we got home we could play in the snow. Really, Mom, she said that." (As if her teacher trumped whatever I might say about her getting to play in the snow.) Then I had to tell her it had all melted. She cried and yelled all the way home. I had to repeat my speech about the snow coming another day....
