Yam Fest 2010

The last weekend of our 2-week stay was the Yamboree. T took off work on Friday and drove up to spend the weekend with us. G and B were finally old/tall enough to get arm bands for the rides so they thought they were super special. E spent most of her time in the stroller but she didn't seem to mind. This is going to be a super long post with tons of pictures so buckle up and enjoy the ride....you might even need snacks :)

Thursday October 21st - My cousin's daughter showed a pig at the livestock show. I had to work but Nana went and took B with her. He was very excited to get to go see the animals all by himself with Nana.






Friday October 22nd - The first parade, animals at the livestock barns and riding rides.

Waving - B was such a good parade participant this year. He had a great time.

G was a little less enthusiastic with her waving but she still enjoyed herself.

Petting a goat. G was too nervous. You can see part of her behind the pole. That is about as close as she would get.

Off to find the perfect pig to try and pet. They were also searching for 'Ruby', my cousin's daughter's pig that she showed the day before. Since B was the only one of us who had actually seen Ruby, who knows if we ever found her or not ...

The arm bands...they were so proud :) We were a little worried that we wouldn't want to stay long enough to ride enough rides to pay for them but we did and the kids had a great time on all the rides.

There are the girls. They had a great time riding with each other.

Everyone looks like nothing is wrong in this picture, but that is because the ride is stopped. You can't even see B but he is behind the other 3 with T. G, B and cousin B cried the whole way through. Cousin C was the only kid who enjoyed this one. She was even holding her hands up and everything.

Uncle C was the only brave enough adult to ride the spinning bears.
G was not a fan, but cousin B and B loved it!

Corn dogs for dinner. At one point, B gave his corn dog to T and said, "Will you hold this so I can dance?" and then he stood up in the street and danced to the music that was playing. What a little character.

Saturday October 23rd - We had family pictures and a Halloween party (pictures to come soon) to go to later in the day so we concluded our Yam Fest with the morning parade.
